Meet the Candidates

The following people have been nominated for the positions of Region IV Chair & Co-Chair on the 2024-25 SNAI Executive Board.  Voting is open through September 9, 2024.

Region IV Chair

Lawton Bronson CSD
Food Service Director

Jess Franks was born and raised in Redding, California. She graduated with a BS Business Management, focus entrepreneurship from CSU Chico.  Four years ago she and her husband along with their two sons moved to Treynor, IA where she started subbing at Treynor Elementary in the kitchen and loved it! She was at Treynor for 1.5 years before her husband's company moved them again where they ended up in Lawton, IA.  She started in the high school kitchen and then decided to try her hand at the Director position when the previous director retired. She is currently in her second year as Director for Lawton-Bronson CSD. The previous director, Jane Anderson, introduced her to SNAI and she said she was hooked. She loves the camaraderie and sense of community the organization offers, especially being so new to school nutrition.

Region IV Co-Chair

Carla Palsrok
Sibley-Ocheyden CSD
Food Service Director

Carla Palsrok is the mom to four amazing kids, age 16, 17, 18, and 26 and a few fur babies.  She has worked in the food service industry in some form or another since she was 12, everything from your small town cafe to large industrial kitchens.  She has been at Sibley-Ocheyden CSD for 10 years, this will be her 5th as director.
